Grangers fall to Patriots

he LaGrange Grangers closed the regular season with a 7-1 home loss to the Northside Patriots on Friday.
The Grangers scored a single run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead, and that’s the way it remained until the Patriots tied it in the top of the sixth.
Northside surged ahead with six runs in the top of the seventh inning, and LaGrange was unable to answer.
LaGrange, the number three team from Region 5-AAAA, will be on the road next week against Stephens County in the opening round of the state playoffs.
They’ll play a doubleheader on Wednesday at 4 p.m., and if needed, a third game would be on Thursday at 1 p.m.
In Friday’s game, Wesley Kuhn was LaGrange’s starting pitcher, and he threw three shutout innings while hold Northside to two hits.
Cole Sanders pitched the final four innings, and he allowed four hits, and all seven of the runs Northside scored against him were unearned.
Charles Crawford had two of LaGrange’s five hits, and Kuhn had a hit, as well as a sacrifice fly to drive in the first-inning run
Pate Williams and Evan Trujillio also had hits for LaGrange.
Tray Richburg had a double and three RBIs for the Patriots.
