The LaGrange Police Department responded to an assault at Southbend Skatepark Monday evening at approximately 7:45 p.m. The victims reported the theft of a cell phone and a physical assault that followed after the victims attempted to recover the stolen cell phone away from the park.

The Criminal Investigations Section of the LPD was notified and began an investigation into the incident. A juvenile suspect was identified and charged with theft and aggravated battery. The victim’s cell phone was recovered and returned to the victim.
