Former Troup Tiger Ryan Bliss, who has made a smooth transition to the college game, has been named to the SEC all-freshman team.
Bliss, a second baseman who is the only Auburn player to start all 55 games this season, is among the team leaders in batting average (.277), hits (57), doubles (10), RBIs (32) and stolen bases (10).
Bliss is tied for the team lead with 41 runs scored, and he also has two home runs.
Bliss closed on a strong note, hitting .417 in Auburn’s final three SEC series of the regular season.
That included a memorable weekend against Alabama when he was 6-for-12 with four RBIs and five runs scored.
In the final regular-season game against LSU, Bliss had the game-tying home run in the sixth inning, and he came home with the game-winning run in the 11th inning.
