Mr. John Jacob Stone

John Jacob Stone, age 95, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on June 15, 2019 at the Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eatonton, Ga.
Mr. Stone was a LaGrange native. After graduating from high school and volunteering and serving his country in the US Army 10 th Mountain Division during World War II, Mr. Stone moved to Sarasota, FL with his wife Christina, where he worked and retired as a Lieutenant from the Sarasota Fire Department.
Upon his retirement he moved back to LaGrange and resided on LakeCrest Drive for many years. After being widowed from his first wife Christina, Mr. Stone married Kathryn Baker and continued to reside on LakeCrest Drive for many more years. In 2010 Mr. Stone lost his second wife, Kathy. In 2015
Mr. Stone moved to Poplar Creek Assisted Living Center and resided there until 2017 when he moved to Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eatonton, Georgia to be near his daughters.
Mr. Stone is survived by two daughters, Linda Strohecker (Cary) and Lonnie Moore (James) of Lake Oconee, Eatonton, Ga.; a nephew, Butch Anderson of Hamilton, GA; a niece, Sandra Stover of LaGrange, GA; and cousins, Ruby Parker and Gladys Barefield of LaGrange, Ga. Mr. Stone has 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews around the LaGrange area.
Mr. Stone was a member of long standing of First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, Ga. Services will be held from the First Baptist Church on the Square, Friday, June 21, 2019. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with services immediately following at 3:00 p.m. The Reverend Paul Blair officiating. Interment will follow in Hillview East Cemetery.
