Mrs. Opal F. Norton, 87, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Wellstar Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Norton was born Opal Faye Moore, April 12, 1932 in Heard County the daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle Cook Moore. She was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church and was a former employee of Playtex and enjoyed doing sewing work in her home making bedspreads, draperies and other fabric items.

Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Paul Norton; sister, Ruth Hand; brothers, Tommy, Freddy, Wendall, and Jimmy Moore.

Survivors include, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Whited, LaGrange, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Cindy Skipper, Valley, AL; two granddaughters, Allison McClendon, LaGrange, Ga, Ashley Skipper, Valley, AL; special friend and caregiver, Joyce Franklin, LaGrange, GA; sisters, Mrs. Melba Phillips, Newnan, GA, Louise Moore, Carrollton, GA, Mary Hall, Carrollton, GA, Nora Bishop, Douglasville, GA; brother, Harold Moore, Jr., Heflin, AL.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Opal F. Norton will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday from the Hunter- Allen-Myhand Chapel with the Reverend Joe Schuck officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery on the Norton Family Lot. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the Service Hour of 1:00 p.m.
