Miss Harriett Susan Finney 78, passed away at her home in Gainesville, GA Friday, August 16, 2019. Miss Finney was born in LaGrange April 25, 1941 to the late James Henry Finney Jr and Willie Kate Bowles Finney.

Miss Finney had a Master’s Degree in Education and retired from the DeKalb County School System after 30 years. Over her years of teaching she was a positive influence on the students entrusted to care. Miss Finney loved boating and enjoyed spending time in nature filled with beauty and wonderful sounds.

Miss Finney is survived by her sisters; Kay Jennings (Charles), Jane Hester (Wayne), Cindy Cleveland (Walter) as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA.  Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.  The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m at the funeral home.
