Mrs. Janice Wilson Covington

Janice Wilson Covington of Valley, Alabama, was united with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2019. Janice was born in Fairfax, Alabama, in 1941, graduated from Valley High School in 1959, and married Eugene Covington in 1960. They attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where she obtained her degree in Religious Education. She and Gene were missionaries in Nalerigu, Ghana, W. Africa, from 1977–1988. Janice served in many areas of Christian ministry throughout her life.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow Wilson and Lucy Hood Wilson of Fairfax, AL. She is survived by her husband, Gene, daughters Karen Thompson (Alan) and Julia Stodghill (Paul), eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two siblings John R. Wilson and Joyce Ragsdale.
A Celebration of Life service for Janice will be held at Western Heights Baptist Church on September 19, 2019, at 2:00 pm EST with visitation from 1-2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Western Heights Baptist Church, 2382 West Point Road, LaGrange, GA 30240, “In Memory of Janice Covington” for local and global missions.
