The LaGrange Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday night.

Officers with the LPD responded to the 900 block of Georgia Avenue in reference to a person who had been shot. The LPD made contact with the victim, who was suffering a gunshot wound to the upper leg.

The victim told police he was walking on Graphic Street when he was approached by a black male who was driving a black vehicle who attempted to rob him.

The victim said that the subject produced a handgun and ultimately shot him in the leg during the encounter. The victim was transported to West Georgia Medical Center where he was treated for his injury.
