Cougars fall short on road

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars saw their four-game winning streak come to a close with a 17-7 loss to Calvary Christian on Friday.
Cason Firth had a 52-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that put Lafayette Christian ahead 7-3, and Calvary Christian answered with a touchdown to take a 10-7 lead at the half.
Calvary Christian scored a touchdown on its first possession of the third quarter to cap the scoring.
Ben Dixon had 72 rushing yards for the Cougars, and Cason Firth ran for 64 yards.
“We could move the ball between the 20s, but we couldn’t score,” Lafayette Christian head coach Billy Bryant said.
