This week, government offices across the county will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving, and trash pickup will be delayed for the holiday.

The City of LaGrange, the City of Hogansville and the City of West Point’s city halls will be closed for business Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Troup County’s government offices will likewise be closed on Thursday and Friday.

LaGrange, Hogansville and West Point residents who normally receive garbage and recycling pickup on Thursdays will have their pickup on Friday, Nov. 29. Hogansville’s regularly scheduled Friday trash pick-up will take place on Saturday. The City of LaGrange is asking citizens to put out their bins early on Friday, so city crews can finish their routes early and head back home to their families.

Troup County Convenience Centers will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving, and the centers will resume normal business hours on Saturday.

Mail will not be delivered by the U.S. Postal Service on Thanksgiving, and subscribers of The LaGrange Daily News will not receive a newspaper on Thanksgiving Day.
