Mr. Ben Stargell passed away Wednesday.

He was born April 3, 1944 in LaGrange to the late, Mattie Lou Brewer Stargell and C. S. Patterson.

Ben attended Ethel Kight High School, and later joined the U.S. Army. He was previously employed by local manufacturers and Food Depot.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Shanna Hill; eight grandchildren; sister, Clotell Stargell; brothers, Morris, William, and Elijah Stargell; his Patterson sisters and brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and lifelong friend, Charlie Roberts.

The Service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point.

The family will be at their home at 905 New Mexico Street.

The excellent care of Mr. Stargell is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
