Frank Carlton Ligon

1947-2020

Rev. Frank Carlton Ligon passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia.

He was born July 10, 1947, to the late Nolan Ligon and Carsell Dowell Ligon in Troup County, Georgia. He united with Thankful Baptist Church.

A 1965 graduate of Ethel Kight High, Frank joined the Army.

Frank was part owner of Main Street Shell Gas Station for many years, also worked for Deering Milliken/Callaway Mill Division, and he was also the owner of his own truck and trucking logistic business.

Survivors include: from the union with Pat Ligon Kight, five daughters: Cecelia Ligon-Adams, Arie Ligon, LaGrange, Sophia Ligon, Ellenwood, Georgia, Jaketa Hardnett (Colby), West Point, Georgia, Tomeka Ligon, LaGrange; with the union of Patricia Jenkins, one daughter, Whitney Ligon, Pine Mountain, Georgia; with the union of Latanja Ligon, one son, Andrew Ligon, LaGrange; eight  grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Morris Ligon, Whitesville, Georgia; three sisters, Mary Long (Johnny), Woodbury, Georgia, Diane Knight (Willie), LaGrange, Oscilla Ligon, LaGrange; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The viewing of Mr. Ligon will be on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. 

The Graveside Service will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Troup, Cemetery.
