Tough day for LaGrange

The LaGrange High hitters were unable to keep pace with East Coweta pitcher Jaliyah Holmes, who threw a five-inning perfect game in an 8-0 home victory on Wednesday.
Holmes faced 15 batters and had 14 strikeouts, and 47 of the 56 pitches she threw were strikes.
East Coweta scored a single run in the first inning and three runs in the second, and it capped the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Camden Smith pitched a complete game for LaGrange.
LaGrange (7-4 overall) will return to Region 2-AAAA competition with a home game against Carver on Thursday.
LaGrange is 2-0 in the region after beating Columbus and Shaw.
