LaGrange College has six active cases of COVID-19, according to numbers released Friday by the college.
According to those numbers, four of the cases are in residential student cases, one is an active commuter case and one is an active employee case. There’s also one prior active case that is no longer considered active.
An active case represents an individual in isolation after a positive test result. According to the college, after an individual’s 14-day isolation period ends, he or she will be removed from active cases in future updates and will be placed in the prior active cases category.
The dashboard reflects the number of cases since Aug. 18, which is the first day students moved in for the fall semester.
“Since every student and employee had to submit a negative test result before classes began, our semester has launched fairly smoothly,” said LaGrange College President Dr. Susanna Baxter.
“Now, we must work at keeping everyone vigilant and following the procedures we have established to keep the campus safe.”
