Maggie McDonald was in control for the Troup High softball team.

McDonald was untouchable on the pitcher’s mound during Thursday’s 8-0 home win over the Shaw Raiders.

McDonald threw a five-inning no-hitter, and she had six strikeouts while walking three batters.

McDonald got all the support she’d need with the Tigers scoring a single run in the bottom of the first, and they continued to pad their lead throughout the game.

Troup scored three runs in each of the third and fifth innings, and it scored one run in the bottom of the fourth.

Leadoff hitter Ramsey Clark had three hits for Troup with a double, and Catherine Smalley had a triple and two walks, and she had two RBIs.

Jennifer Albertson had an RBI, and McDonald had a hit and two walks while scoring two runs.

Hadleigh Livingston and Caroline McInvale each had a walk with a run scored, and Morgan Watkins reached on a walk.

Troup (6-5 overall) improved to 2-0 in Region 2-AAAA while winning for the fourth time in five games.
