The red-hot LaGrange High softball team blanked Bowdon 4-0 on Monday for its fourth consecutive victory.

Camden Smith threw a five-shutout as LaGrange improved to 13-6 with the non-region win.

Smith, LaGrange’s outstanding senior pitcher, only needed 74 pitches to make it through seven innings of work, and she held Bowdon to five hits while striking out three with no walks.

Offensively, LaGrange had eight hits, and it scored two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings.

Madison Dennis and Abby Vanhoose each had RBI triples for LaGrange, and leadoff hitter Malone Aldridge had two hits with a run scored.

Jacee Marable had a hit, and Kaylee Bryant walked twice and scored a run.

LaGrange will return to Region 5-AAAA competition on Thursday when it visits Troup.
