The Lafayette Christian School Cougars will put their perfect record on the line when they travel to Damascus to take on Southwest Georgia Academy on Friday.
After opening with a dominant 50-18 win over Georgia Christian, Lafayette Christian improved to 2-0 with a 21-8 victory over Skipstone Academy in their home opener.
Lafayette Christian’s game with Central Christian was canceled last week because of Covid-19 issues, and it will return to action on Friday against Southwest, which evened its record at 1-1 with a 45-24 win over Calvary Christian last week.
In the win over Skipstone, Lafayette Christian got a lock-down defensive performance.
Skipstone was unable to get much going offensively, and its lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter after the outcome had been decided.
The Cougars got a 65-yard touchdown run from Cason Firth, a 25-yard scoring pass from Jacob Karvelas to Cameron Elliott, and an interception return for a touchdown by Tyson Karvelas.
Lafayette Christian will be back on the road to play Rock Springs Christian on Oct. 2 before returning home to play Sherwood Christian on Oct. 16.
