Mr. Charles Emmett Stuart, 75, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away on Oct. 11, 2020. 

Mr. Stuart was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Gray Stuart (Betty Jo) and his mother, Frances Waldroup Bailey (Clyde); his daughter, Tamalah Stuart, siblings Delores Bailey Parmer and Felton Bailey. 

He is survived by his children, Michael Shannon Stuart (Jane), Dawn Coppes (Keil), Carla King (Steven), Taran Stuart (Yue) and Christal Stuart-Greathouse; his siblings Ginger Stuart Strong (Larry), Rhonda Stuart Williams, Donna Stuart Henderson, James E. Stuart (Shane), Ida Bailey Womack (Ron) and Wesley Bailey; and grandchildren Brett Schmidt, Kelsey Schmidt Velez (Gabe), Heather Schmidt Robeson (Isaac), Caleb Schmidt, Luke Schmidt, Autumn King Allen (Charlie), Stephen Jonah King, Tai Stuart, Asher Stuart, Silvia Stuart, Mackenzie Greathouse (Sarah) and Taylor Greathouse. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stuart worked 53 years enjoying the scenic beauty of North America while transporting freight to and from every state of the United States, throughout Canada, and Mexico. 

His fellow brothers and sisters in the transportation industry will always remember him as “Shiny Top”, which was bestowed on him by friends because of his extensive receding hairline and scalp that always seemed to shimmer.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Davidson Baptist Church, 2921 Georgia Highway 18, West Point, Georgia 31833. For the safety of all who attend, masks and social distancing will be required. KN95 masks will be provided and attendees will be required to wear them as cloth masks will not be permitted. Hand sanitizer will also be available. 

The family will receive friends after the service there at Davidson Baptist Church.
