Michael Shane Lanier, 51, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2020, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Shane, as most knew him was born Sept. 19, 1969 in LaGrange, GA, son of the Darlene Smallwood Lanier and the late Michael E. Lanier. He was a former member of Oakside Baptist Church and was employed with MEAD as a First Press Operator until his health declined.

Shane was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping on the lake.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael E. Lanier.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Darlene Lanier; sons, Logan Lanier and Mason Lanier; brother, Chris (Brenda) Lanier; nieces, Ashley Lanier and Kristen Lanier; nephew, Dylan Lanier; uncles, Sparky (Nancy) Smallwood and Tyrone (Glenda) Smallwood; several cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at a later date and will gather at his mother’s home, 221 Wilcox Rd. LaGrange, GA 30241.
