On Friday, a new clothing boutique in downtown LaGrange officially opened its doors to shoppers.

Ressas’s Unique Boutique opened its first location in Roanoke, Alabama and now has a shop open at 10 N. Lafayette Square.

“One of the biggest reasons we wanted to open in LaGrange was because LaGrange is bigger,” said boutique owner Terressa Waldrep. “It’s also my dad’s hometown. My grandmother worked here. It’s where our family got started.”

Waldrep said she had been looking for a building to move the boutique into when she found Principle Construction.

The company had been renovating the building on the square to allow more office space for the community.

“I was able to come in and find a spot perfectly for us,” Waldrep said. “We’ve been doing all of this in the middle of COVID. In Roanoke, we had to shut down for two months in the middle of everything.”

Going forward, Weldrep plans to open a new store every two years in a new city or county.

“I want to open in a different location that has some kind of meaning to it,” Waldrep said. “Roanoke is my hometown, and here is my dad’s hometown. So, two years from now I’ll open another store somewhere that has meaning.”

Ressas’s Unique Boutique offers a variety of women’s clothing that ranges from small to 3XL. Waldrep said trendy clothes aren’t the only things they are selling.

“We have shoes, accessories and more,” Waldrep said. “We purchased game day apparel. Even Georgia Bulldogs game day shirts and jackets. We also have little gourmet food items and other small little food items.”

You can also order online, which includes items that are featured in both locations at Ressasuniqueboutique.com. For more information about the store, call (706) 668-6068.

“We are excited to meet all the people of LaGrange,” Waldrep said. “We want to become part of the community and who knows, I may end wanting to move to the LaGrange area.”
