SAMMIE LEE RAY, JR.

1954-2020

Mr. Sammie Lee Ray, Jr. passed away Thursday.

He was born Aug. 3, 1954 in LaGrange, Georgia to Catherine Truitt Ray and the late Sammie Lee Ray, Sr.

Sam graduated from LaGrange High School in 1972, began his truck driving career with Jack Davis Concrete Company and went on to be a tractor trailer driver for Yellow Freight Company.  

He was offered a position as a dialysis technician in 1980.  He worked with West Georgia Medical Center Dialysis for 22 years.

He united with Threats Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Althea Ray; two children, Christopher Ray and Catherine Ray; two grandchildren; mother, Catherine Ray; sister, Vicki (Addis Bugg) Ray; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

The service will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. at Southview Cemetery.

The excellent care of Mr. Ray is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
