EMORY LAMAR BARBER, SR.
1941-2020
Mr. Emory Lamar Barber, Sr., 79, of Franklin, Georgia passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Barber was born April 21, 1941 in Roanoke, Alabama, son of the late Jesse Render Barber and Mary Osteen O’Neal Barber. He was a member and Deacon of Olive Branch Baptist Church, Franklin, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ben Barber.
Survivors include his wife of 59 1/2 years, Betty Barber; children, Emory Barber, Jr. (Audrey), Gary Barber (Sherry), and June Barber; siblings, Gail Barber Fite (Hunter), Larry Barber (Diane), and Harry Barber (Cutine); and grandchildren, Ryan, Wayne, Katherine, Lauren, Matthew Lauren, Faith, and Mallory.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Mark Shelnutt officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin, Georgia.
The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 1 – 2 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, Georgia.
