After years of growth in business, Eco Choice Interiors moved into a new building on Mooty Bridge Road.

When Jennifer Spears, owner and accredited principal interior designer, first began her business in 2008, she was running it out of her home. She had just graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design and went straight to work.

“I started off just redesigning children’s bedrooms and things like that,” Spears said. “I just told people I was a designer and would help anyway I could. I would just do small projects and remodel rooms and living rooms and did a few doctor’s offices. Then, I met a group of guys and they kind introduced me into the kitchen and bath world. That’s when I started researching and learned about that and that was when I got into the kitchen and bath remodeling.”

After outgrowing her garage and home with supplies, Spears rented a small spot in LaGrange. She then quickly outgrew that space as well.

“I have always loved this building and wanted to see it be brought back to life,” Spears said. “We bought this building and so now this is going to be our new Eco Choice Interiors, and I’m just so excited for it.”

Spears offers a wide range of services including space planning, furniture, fixture and lighting specification and procurement, construction documents, 3D rendering, custom window treatment specification and installation, sustainable design consulting, artwork specification and installation, custom cabinet selection and installation, construction remodeling, and other residential and commercial interior services based on the scope of work.

“I truly have started off from nothing and have created this business from the ground up,” Spears said. “It’s just been from clients and friends and family. A lot of people didn’t even know that I was here in town for the last 10 years because it was just all word of mouth. I did a lot of things through the chamber and things like that to help me grow and get my name out there, but this is the first time I’ve ever had a storefront.”

Spears said she has done a lot of design work and remodels but never had a space for clients to come in and have a full studio experience.

“This new location is great for us,” Spears said. “I am going to keep growing my team and keep helping people. My favorite thing is when clients send me pictures of when they are in their new homes with their family, living their life. It’s a win for you because you know they’re so comfortable, they’re loving it, and it’s creating that warm home experience for them.”

Spears says she loves to remodel a kitchen because it reminds her of Tetris.

“It’s all about how can this work together and what do we need to do to make this work and be more efficient,” Spears said. “I walk into spaces and completely redesign them in my brain. Everybody always told me I needed to find my niche, and I finally found my niche.”

In addition to the design services, Eco Choice now offers products for everyone to create their own space and vision. They have a selection of cabinetry, countertops, hardware, tile, lighting, window treatments, mantels and plumbing fixtures.
