Cathleen Moon McCarthy

1943-2020

Mrs. Cathleen Moon McCarthy, of LaGrange, passed away on Dec. 20, 2020.  Mrs. McCarthy was born on Aug. 6, 1943 in Opelika, Alabama to Lem Moon and Fannie Pearl Holloway Moon.  Her father preceded her in death as well as her husband of fifty two and a half years, Henry Anderson McCarthy and a son, Chris McCarthy.

Mrs. McCarthy was a loyal fan to her Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team, the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons.  She was a faithful member of the Gray Hill Church of God and a valuable, caring member of the staff at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand.  She will be greatly missed by her family, her church family, and her staff family at the funeral home.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her daughter, Dana McCarthy; sisters, Erma Cotton, Linda Duffey and her husband Tim and Trisha Goodman and her husband David; grandchildren, Logan and Jordan Ethridge; daughter in law Maria (McCarthy) Hasse; son in law, Tom Hasse; grandchildren, Jacob, Hanna and Abigail McCarthy; extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at 3 p.m. EST at the Langdale Cemetery, 1510 South 3rd Street, Lanett, Alabama, 36863 with Pastor David Cross officiating.  Family and friends will assemble at the graveside.  Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand, 506 Hill Street, LaGrange, 706-884-5626.  The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/higginslagrangechapel/.
