1926-2020
William Richard Hall, 94, of Brevard, North Carolina, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 at Tore’s Home Assisted Living, Brevard, North Carolina.
Dick was born in Flemington, New Jersey, July 15, 1926, son of the late Robert R. and Irma Apgar Hall, and was a graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1944.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps 1943-1946. He was plant manager for Ethyl-Visqueen Corp., Rairtan Township, New Jersey and retired in 1987.
An accomplished banjo player, Dick was a member of the Sons of the Whisky Rebellion Band for many years. Dick had formerly resided in Sergeantsville, New Jersey for many years before moving to North Carolina seventeen years ago.
Dick’s wife, Margaret (Peggy) Higgins Hall, died in 1992 and he was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Hall and his sister, Ann Bonney Kinnear.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law Mark and Jeanne P. Hall of Brevard, North Carolina and Jacob Hall of Athens, Georgia and two grandchildren, William Colter Hall and Margaret Hunter.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, New Jersey. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, New Jersey. There will be no calling hours.
