Callaway sweeps Bremen

BREMEN – The Callaway Cavaliers are halfway home, and they’re still perfect in Region 5-AA.

Callaway (4-6 overall) beat Bremen 67-35 on Friday to reach the midpoint of its region schedule with a 4-0 record.

Demetrius Coleman led the Cavaliers with 15 points, and Devin Dowell added 11 points with four steals, four assists and two rebounds.

Javontay Boddie contributed nine points with four rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Kaleb Salter had six points and six rebounds.

Chauncey Bradford chipped in with six points and six rebounds.

Callaway’s girls’ team improved to 3-1 in region play with a 61-46 victory over Bremen.

Gabrielle Johnson had a big night for Callaway with 21 points while making three 3-pointers, and Camryn Stargell added 11 points, with eight of those points coming in the second quarter.

Jazmine Thornton scored 10 points and was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line, and Lacy Thomas scored nine points.
