A fire at a structure on West Mulberry Street in LaGrange did an estimated $5,000 worth of damage Thursday, according to a press release from the LaGrange Fire Department. LFD crews were dispatched at 6:13 p.m. on Thursday after a report of a structure fire was made. After arriving on scene, firefighters saw light smoke coming from the building. According to the release, the sprinkler system inside had been activated and extinguished the fire.

The fire was officially out at 6:23 p.m. All occupants had left the building by the time LFD arrived, the release said.

The cause was deemed electrical by LFD. The damage estimated was based on damage to the structure and its contents.
