Lafayette Christian competes in region tournament

The season came to a close for the Lafayette Christian School Cougars with a 62-45 loss to Konos Academy in the opening round of the GAPPS Region 1-AA tournament on Monday at Flint River Academy.
Konos Academy, the tournament’s number three seed, advances to the semifinals, while the season ends for sixth-seeded Lafayette Christian.
Lafayette Christian School’s girls’ team is the tournament’s number one seed, and it will play fourth-seeded Griffin Christian on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
If Lafayette Christian wins, it will play for the region championship on Friday at 7 p.m.
If Lafayette Christian loses to Griffin Christian, it will play in the third-place game at 4 p.m.
