The LaGrange Lady Grangers were unable to keep pace with a formidable Carver squad on Wednesday night.
Carver, which won a state championship in 2019 and reached the state semifinals last year before losing to Troup, surged to a 28-3 lead after the first quarter on the way to a 78-23 victory.
Carver (8-2 overall) improved to 4-0 in Region 2-AAAA, and it has won each of those four games by at least 45 points.
LaGrange (5-12 overall) is 3-4 in region play, and it can finish with a .500 region record with a home win over Hardaway on Friday.
Corriah Williams led LaGrange in scoring against Carver with seven points, and Jasmine Chaney paced Carver with 24 points while making six 3-pointers.
