LaGrange falls to Carver in region tourney

The season came to a close for the LaGrange Lady Grangers with an 83-26 loss to Carver on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Region 2-AAAA tournament at Troup High.
While Carver advances to play Hardaway on Friday in the semifinals, the season came to a close for LaGrange.
The Lady Grangers scored the game’s first points on a 3-pointer by Carmen Lynch, but the Lady Tigers quickly took over and led 20-5 after the first quarter.
Carver exploded for 32 points in the second quarter, and it was ahead 52-16 at the half.
The story was much the same in the third quarter, with Carver outscoring LaGrange 21-5 to take a 73-21 lead.
Corriah Williams made two 3-pointers and led LaGrange with eight points, and Brandasia Cofield and Nina Brooks added four points apiece.
