Keeley McGuffin scored three goals for the Callaway Lady Cavaliers, but the night ultimately belonged to Temple, which earned a 6-5 win in the Region 5-AA soccer match on Tuesday.
Callaway fought back from a three-goal deficit in the second half to get within one, but the comeback fell just short. Mya Lawton and Mary Kate Baswell also scored for Callaway.
In the boys’ game, Temple won 5-1 with Journee Jordan scoring Callaway’s goal.
Both Callaway teams are 1-1 in the region heading into Friday’s home doubleheader against Bremen.
The boys’ game starts at 5:30 p.m., with the girls’ game to follow.
