Three Thomaston men and one juvenile were arrested Monday morning for breaking into vehicles at Tall Pines Apartments and the Garden Apartments.
According to LaGrange police Det. Ley Wynne, Rontavious King, Kentarius Howard, Ahman Caldwell and the juvenile were seen breaking into a vehicle at approximately 5 a.m. Monday morning at Tall Pines Apartments. Officers were able to locate the suspects driving away from the scene and conduct a traffic stop.
Wynne said the suspects were detained and identified by the witnesses at the apartment complex. A search of their car revealed stolen property taken from a vehicle at the apartment complex and the Garden Apartments.
The three adults and one juvenile have been charged with two counts of entering an auto with the intent to commit a theft as well as three counts of criminal attempt entering auto with the intent to commit a theft.
Wynne said the break ins occurred from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday.
Wynne added that LPD have been able to confirm are the cars that reported missing items but said there could be more cars that they ransacked.
In all of these thefts, the vehicles were left unlocked with items in plain view. Wynne said the LPD urges that residents lock their vehicles when exiting them and remove all valuable items or place in a location where they are not easily visible.
He said that doing so will greatly reduce the likelihood that residents will become the victim of an entering auto or having their valuables stolen.
