JEANNIE “MEMAW” MOSES

1951-2021

On February 1st, 1951, God looked down on the world and decided that we were in need of more patience, and tolerance, to demonstrate to others that good things come to those who wait, and not be so fast to judge.  So, he went to the room where he keeps the special angels, and picked out the one that had the warmest and most intoxicating smile, one that would brighten your worst day.  On the list was that this angel had to be nonjudgmental, knowing everyone was different in their own way, but that they were still one of God’s creations.  With these qualifications, he gave us Jeannie “MeMaw” Moses. 

Through her walk of life, she warmed many hearts with her smile and kind words she shared with those that knew her.   She served our community with more than 22 years of service at the United States Post Office.   Last Tuesday (April 6), while resting at home, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with lung cancer, God reached out to reclaim what was His.  We want to give thanks to Him for sharing her with us. 

She leaves behind her husband of forty-three years, Mike Moses; three biological daughters, Tracy Arrington (Matt), Cyndi Pannell, Regina Sievert (Angela); three stepchildren that received no less love, Ronnie Moses (Lora Lee), Stephanie Cole (Todd), Lizabeth Diberardo (Billy); fifteen grandkids and fifteen great grandkids; extended family.  The family would like to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers through this trying time. 

If you would like to pay your respects to Jeannie, the family will have visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday April 11, 2021 at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Doug Bingham officiating.  Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens.  The family is receiving flowers or asks for donations to be made to St. Jude’s in honor of Mrs. Moses.  Donations may be mailed to 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.  The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/higginslagrangechapel

The family will be receiving friends at a family home on 120 South Brooks Road, LaGrange Georgia 30240.
