LaGrange gets past Callaway

The LaGrange Grangers, in their only meeting of the season with the Callaway Cavaliers, rolled to a 7-1 home win on Wednesday.
Sophomore right-hander Trevor Booton threw six strong innings to get the win, and Chase Williams pitched the seventh inning.
Booton worked around eight hits and two walks to hold Callaway scoreless, and he had four strikeouts.
Williams gave up a run in the seventh inning, but he retired the final two batters he faced to finish it.
Turner Cook had two hits and two RBIs for LaGrange, and Seth Stargell and Matthew Morgan each had two hits.
Ty Medders, Landon Tucker and Colton Esposito each had a hit and an RBI, and Kevin Neighbors drove in a run.
For Callaway, Tucker Starling, Jimmie Dukes, Brantin Swanson, Bryce Hubbard and Justin Moore each pitched.
Hubbard and Moore each pitched scoreless innings, and Swanson didn’t allow an earned run in his two innings.
Hubbard had an RBI single for Callaway, CJ Stephens, Moore and Andrew Locke each had two hits, and Jacob Miles and Eli Freeman each had a hit.
