If you’re around town over the next few weeks, you might see a “Welcome to Troup County magazine” lying around various locations.

These magazines were inserted in last weekend’s edition of The LaGrange Daily News and serve as a guide to the local area. If you’re looking for attractions, restaurants or simply how to spend a day on the lake, or a day in Hogansville, West Point or LaGrange, we hope you’ll pick one up and get some ideas.

Of course, the real purpose of the magazine is to help people who are traveling through Troup County or considering making this area their full-time home. If you know someone visiting soon, please keep a copy, or send them our way, so that we can get them one.

We knew there was a lot to brag out in the area before we started working on “Welcome to Troup County,” but it’s truly amazing when you put it all day in one magazine. And honestly, there’s a lot more we didn’t spotlight that we hope to put in future editions of this annual magazine.

We realize many people in Troup County have lived here their entire lives, and doing so often makes the grass appear greener on the other side. But that’s not always the case.

Very few communities this size have a huge lake, a running/walking trail like the Thread, an amphitheatre, a resort like Great Wolf, breweries like Wild Leap and Beacon or a large skate park.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget all we have here, and we should be truly thankful for all of it.

We hope you’ll pick up a copy of “Welcome to Troup County” and give it a read. If you need a copy, please call us at (706) 884-7311.
