On Wednesday, Lavish Luxe Bridal Boutique held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening at 187 S Davis Road.
“Maggie, we’re so excited to be here today. Thank you so much for being a wonderful chamber member. Most of you probably don’t know, but this is Maggie’s second business with us as a chamber member. We’re so excited to be a part of your ribbon-cutting today,” said Troup County Chamber of Commerce member Leslie Traylor.
Troup County Chamber of Commerce chairman Dale Jackson said he’d never been in a bridal store before.
“With that, I’ll say welcome and thank you so much for being a part of the community and being a part of the chamber. We want to serve you in any way we can,” Jackson said.
Foster said she has been planning weddings in LaGrange since 2008.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, several people at a wedding she attended contracted the virus, making her feel that her line of work was risky.
“But I love weddings, and I love brides, so I still want to be able to service my community and service brides,” Foster said before cutting the ribbon.
Lavish Luxe Bridal Boutique mainly sells dresses for brides, bridesmaids, proms, Quinceaneras, and similar events, according to its website. However, Foster said it also sells other products and services such as tuxedos, acrylic invitations, acrylic welcome signs, seating charts, wedding rentals, and a service called “dancing on the cloud” that involves dry ice fog.
Foster said the business carries dresses size zero to 40 and will order larger dresses for plus-sized women.
“We do have dress makers that make a dress up to custom measurements, so we’re excited about that, because we feel like every woman should feel beautiful on her wedding day,” Foster said.
Foster said she loves “everything about weddings.”
“What better way to service your community than to be here in the beginning of a family, when people are joining as one? One of my sayings is “and the two shall become one.” So once people get married, here we are. We’re here to service you and hopefully be able to grow with your family,” Foster said.
Foster said that in the future, she would like to acquire a bigger facility.
