There will be a drive-thru food donation event, “The Art of Giving,” on Wednesday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at Lagrange Personal Aid Association on 416 Pierce Street (behind Wild Leap Brew Co.), according to a LaGrange Art Museum press release.
The organization says it especially needs canned meats, canned fruit, soup, small bags (2 pounds) of flour, corn meal, single packs of cookies and granola bars.
The press release notes that most of the food bank’s recipients are living on Social Security or disability or are children in need of food while school is out.
The LaFayette Society for Performing Arts, LaGrange Art Museum, LaGrange Symphony Orchestra, and Legacy Museum on Main are partnering with LaGrange Personal Aid, a downtown food bank, for the event.
According to LaGrange Art Museum Executive Director Laura Jennings, they will help by doing a social media campaign.
Additionally, she said their volunteers and directors will be present at the event to receive food.
“All the organizations involved, we are sending out e-blasts to our donor bases and membership bases, asking them to participate,” she said.
“We did this early on at the onset of COVID and had a great response.”
