On Tuesday, family, friends, and visitors gathered at D’Luxury Events on 819 New Franklin Road, Building C for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new business opening. After saying a prayer, LaGrange – Troup County Chamber of Commerce chairman Dale Jackson snipped the ribbon with a giant pair of scissors.

Twenty-five-year-old business owner Dasmine Williams said D’Luxury Events will host and help set up events of all sorts such as baby showers, funerals and wedding receptions. She said it will host its first event, a baby shower, this weekend.

She said the building has a capacity of 49.

Williams said she got the idea for her business from her mom, who’s had her own event center for almost 10 years. Having helped with her mother’s business, Williams said she wanted to step out on her own.
