Donald Edward Russell passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021, at the age of 83. He was born on January 10, 1938, in Monroeville, Alabama. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Mamie Kennedy Russell and Marvin Kennedy Russell and a son Wade Franklin Russell. Don graduated from Monroe County High School in 1956, and from Auburn University in 1960. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. In 1962, he graduated from the Naval Officer Candidate School and then served in Kenitra, Morocco. Don was employed by Callaway Mills in LaGrange, Georgia in 1965, Trend Mills in Rome, GA in 1968, and was a co-founder of Interface Flooring in LaGrange. He served as Vice President of Interface and President of Interface International. He was a member of International Society of Business Fellows. Don was a long-time member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where is served on the Vestry. Don was an avid tennis player, sailor, Pickle Baller, international traveler and bird watcher. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Dyleski (Chris) of Birmingham, Alabama; son Donald Edward Russell, Jr of Pensacola, Florida; three grandchildren, Kate Gorman Dyleski, Jones Christian Dyleski and Lauren Kennedy Russell. He had many friends including his long time companion, Susie Poole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in LaGrange, Georgia A Memorial Service to be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Friday, July 23, at 2 pm.
