More than 90 percent of COVID-19 patients at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center are unvaccinated, according to data released by the hospital on Monday.
WGMC recently began releasing local COVID-19 numbers, and those numbers show that people who are unvaccinated make up the majority of the hospital’s patients. There are currently 78 total hospitalized COVID-19 patients at WGMC, per the data released Monday, and 96% of them are unvaccinated.
Out of the 78 patients, only three are vaccinated.
There are 13 patients in intensive care and 12 of them are unvaccinated, per WGMC.
Twelve patients are on ventilators and 11 of them are unvaccinated.
Over the last two weeks, there have been 876 total COVID-19 cases in Troup County, per the Georgia Department of Public Health.
That means over the last two weeks more than 1% of the county population has had COVID-19.
