Mr. James Jennings, Jr., 76, of College Park, Georgia departed on Monday, Aug. 31 at his home.
Mr. James R. Jennings, the son of the late deacon James Rufus and Inez Moss Jennings, was born in Lagrange.
At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and joined Saint James Methodist Church.
James, affectionately known as “Junior,” was a graduate of East Depot High School Class of 1963.
After graduation, he joined the Airforce and served many years and continued in the Airforce Reserves.
Junior later moved to Union City, Georgia and married the love of his life, Rubye Amos Jennings.
He served and retired as a Fireman Captain for the City of Atlanta.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Rubye Jennings, three daughters: April Jennings, Tracey Jennings, Shont’e (Bernard) Ellis, two sons; Rodney(Lanan) Dudley, and Edward(Yolanda) Buford, ten grandchildren ten great grandchildren, five brothers; Curtis(Emma) Jennings, John Jennings, Donald(Kiesha)Jennings, Michael (Denise) Jennings and Robert Jennings, two sisters Annie Veasley and Gloria Harrell, one special aunt Rose Jackson, very special grandson Ty Buford and a host of nieces, nephews, special relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Southview Cemetery with the Pastor Melissa Wortham officiating.
Chapel viewing will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
