Billy Leon Bowen, 93, passed away on September 11, 2021, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice. He was born April 14, 1928, in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Reese and Margaret Dale Bowen. He was the oldest of nine children.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Martha Yarbrough Bowen; daughter, Charlene (Charles) Yates; son, Derek (Carol) Bowen; grandchildren, Mollye (Ross) Gunnells and Sarah (Drew) Prehmus; great-granddaughters, Ann Yates, Lucy Elizabeth and Catherine James Gunnells. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerome (Margie) Bowen and Gregory (Delores) Bowen and sister, Betty Bowen Adams and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Billy had a long career in textiles beginning with Callaway Mills at a young age and retiring from Bo-Tex in Hogansville. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Alabama football. He loved his family and friends, the church family at Baptist Tabernacle. He will be missed by all.
