Holmes Pharmacy will be administering all three available COVID vaccines and the booster shot Saturday at the Warren Temple United Methodist Church in LaGrange.
The pharmacy expects to have enough of the free Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and booster shot to go around and will be at the church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all people ages 12 years and older get vaccinated, including people who have had COVID-19 or a post-COVID condition.
Per data from the Georgia Department of Public Health collected on Thursday, Sept. 16, only 31.6 percent of Troup County residents are fully vaccinated, and only 37.5 percent of residents have had at least one dose of a vaccine.
Warren Temple’s pastor, the Rev Carl Von Epps, said his church chose to get involved as a way to boost vaccine morale in the community.
“As a part of [this] neighborhood, it’s our duty to encourage a healthy community,” he said.
“The vaccine [and wearing face masks are] our way of helping the community So, we want to encourage our neighbors and friends, church members and non-church members to get their vaccines.”
The Warren Temple United Methodist Church is located at 416 E. Depot Street.
