The Troup County Board of Commissioners announced last week that Devin Hardy has been named Recreation Center Manager of the William J Griggs Recreation Center, effective Oct. 6.

Hardy has worked as the recreation specialist and assistant center manager at the Griggs Center for the past five years and is eager to begin his new managerial role.

In his most recent position, Hardy supervised and managed girls’ softball, boys’ basketball, and adult basketball.

He has also honorably served in the Army Reserves for the past eight years while simultaneously working to provide positive recreational experiences for the citizens of Troup County.

“I’m excited for this new position and to follow in the footsteps of Greg Hall by continuing to supervise and manage the William Griggs Recreation Center,” Hardy said.

“I will also continue to do my best to provide a safe and fun environment within the center and the community.”

As recreation center manager, Hardy will be responsible for organizing teams, leagues, and tournaments; promoting and publicizing programs and events; and managing approved funds among other related duties.
