The Granger defense wreaked havoc and AJ Tucker ran in a 5-yard touchdown as LaGrange won 19-0 over Baldwin Friday night in the first round of the AAAA playoffs.
The Grangers got two field goals and completely shut down Baldwin after the Braves had a couple of promising drives in the first quarter.
Following a scoreless opening quarter, quarterback Tae Snead had a 2-yard touchdown run in the second period to make the score 6-0 Grangers after a missed extra point. Christian Ceja made a 32-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to make it 9-0 LaGrange, and Micah Prophett’s third quarter field goal made it 12-0.
Tucker’s touchdown run put the finishing touches on an incredible performance in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
Braden Karcher, Magic Johnson and Jakobe Jones had interceptions for LaGrange in the victory.
The Grangers will travel to Marist next Friday.
