HOGANSVILLE— A man was shot and killed Friday afternoon on Oak Street in Hogansville.
The victim has been identified as Lorocco Anquaylan Boyd, a 42-year-old Hogansville native, according to Police Chief Jeff Sheppard. Sheppard said during a press conference that HPD secured the scene and gathered evidence in collaboration with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. The HPD is currently looking for a green four door car with dark tinted windows, which is the vehicle possibly driven by the shooting suspect. The vehicle has been described as a late 2000s model. Sheppard said citizens of Hogansville can contact the department if they have any information on the shooting.
“If there’s anyone in the area of Oak Street or Highway 29 that heard or saw anything, we would ask that they come forward,” Sheppard said. “They can contact Detective Marcus Rakestraw at the Hogansville Police Department at (706) 637-6648 by phone or contact him through our Facebook page through direct messaging.”
The HPD would like to clarify that this murder is unrelated to the reports of a deceased person found Friday on Power Plant Road in unincorporated Troup County.
“No foul play is suspected regarding that death. There is no indication of any relationship between these two incidents,” Sheppard said.
