Mattie Smith “Peanut” Harrell, a native of Fulton County, died Monday, March 7, 2022, at her home. 

She was the daughter of  Mary Pettway, Shirley Smith and Lyde Brooks. Mattie excelled at everything she put her mind to and she supported her children through the many difficulties of their lives. 

Survivors to cherish fond memories are her husband, Anthony Harrell, her children, Tremayne, Shannevia and Shakorea Smith; sisters, Mary Jackson, Vickie Kendricks, Brandy Pettway, Nicole Brooks, Wendy Kennedy and Belk Kennedy; brothers, Leroy Smith, Victor Smith, Gerod Gilbert and Mike Smith; several grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. 

Graveside services for Mattie Smith Harrell will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Southview Cemetery.

The Rev. Alford Booker will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Friday evening, March 18, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at West Georgia Mortuary.
