Josh Mcdonald hits grand slam to help lead Tigers to big region win over Shaw

The Troup County Tigers got revenge against Shaw with a 14-0 win on Wednesday after dropping a game to Shaw at home on Monday.
The Tigers got the scoring started when Josh Mcdonald reached base on a two-out error that scored two runs. Another error scored an additional two runs for the Tigers in the inning.
Mcdonald grounded into a fielder’s choice to put another run on the board in the top of the third.
Ty Medders drove in two runs in the top of the fourth inning to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead. Devon Murphy stole home before Reed Morris hit a RBI double to give the Tigers a commanding 9-0 lead.
Josh Mcdonald hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth to add to the misery for the Raiders. Dylan Stotsky hit an RBI single later in the inning to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
Murphy got the start on the mound and put together a well-rounded performance as he pitched four innings and only allowed four hits with six strikeouts. Rocky Pemberton and Fisher Baltzell each pitched an inning in relief and helped Murphy blank the Raiders.
Murphy was credited with the win and also helped his cause from the plate with one hit on two at bats with two runs scored and a walk.
The Tigers only had 10 hits on the evening and were greatly helped by the whopping seven errors from Shaw.
McDonald was the star of the show for the Tigers as went one for four with two runs scored and five RBIs.
Medders also showed out at the plate as he went two for four with two RBIs. The only other multi-hit game was Will Keeter with two hits on three at bats. Keeter also scored two runs and earned a walk.
The Tigers improved to 14-5 overall and 8-2 in region play. Troup County has a doubleheader at home against Carver on Friday.
