Troup County recently completed a major renovation at its Troup County Collaborative Health and Wellness Center, an onsite health center for employees operated by WeCare TLC.

The project included new hardwood flooring, signage, lighting, countertops and lobby furniture, all of which serve to create a more comfortable environment for patients.

A filtration component was added to the heating and air system and a separate sick waiting room was created to provide a cleaner, safer environment for all patients.

The renovation was funded by a recent federal grant and is part of the county’s commitment to continuous healthcare improvement. In addition to Troup County employees, the health center serves employees of LaGrange College and ADVICS Manufacturing Georgia, LLC. It also provides the same advanced primary care services for inmates at the Troup County Jail.

The Troup County Collaborative Health and Wellness Center first came about a decade ago when the county was struggling with rising healthcare costs. County leaders wanted to find a solution that not only lowered costs, but would provide high-quality care and improve overall health. WeCare TLC has been a Troup County partner since 2011.

“I’m very thankful for the resources that the Troup County Board of Commissioners has allocated to our employees,” said County Manager Eric Mosley.

“Speaking for myself, I’m very grateful to have resources at my fingertips that allow me to live a healthier lifestyle.”

This past year, an annual report on the success of Troup County health center found:

  • 81% of all eligible employees have utilized the health center
  • 67% of provider visits were for patients who designated the health center as their medical home
  • 21% of the members utilizing the health center have not incurred a health plan claim
  • 56% of patients with a diabetes diagnosis have their hemoglobin A1C within target
  • 83% savings in outside lab orders were completed inside the health center versus in the community for those on the health plan

“Troup County is one of our most engaged clients who really understands our vision for changing the way healthcare is delivered,” said Raegan Le Douaron, president of WeCare tlc.

“We’ve been able to establish a true partnership through mutual support and communication, and that’s what’s really helped make the Troup County health center successful. We’re extremely excited about the center’s recent renovation and are confident it will help patients feel more comfortable and safer during visits.”
