On Tuesday night, the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate forum at its office.
The forum was a partnership with The LaGrange Daily News and was published on the LDN’s Facebook page. We want to say thank you to the chamber of commerce for all of its work behind the scenes to organize a candidate forum every election season. All of these forums are well-organized, go off without a hitch and provide voters with a real opportunity to learn more about local candidates. Without these types of events, some voters might never get a chance to hear directly from candidates.
Everyone involved at the chamber — Connie Hensler, Brandon Eley, Leslie Traylor, Jamey Jackson and so many others — deserves a lot of credit for how well Tuesday night went, especially considering the chamber also hosted its Early Bird Breakfast on Tuesday morning. What a long day. Eley in particular sets up all of the audio, video and overlays for the event each time the forums are held, and it’s always flawless.
We appreciate being a part of these events and are excited to continue a partnership with the chamber for future candidate forums.
The video from Tuesday’s forum also remains on our Facebook page. Additional stories from the event will publish in Saturday’s edition of the LDN.
